Available Services

Spring Cleanup

Moss and Whimsy performs this service during the months of March-May (Weather dependent). Tasks included in this service involve:

​

  • Cutting back herbaceous perennials that were left up for winter interest.

  • Removing dead, diseased, and damaged branches from shrubs.

  • Removing fallen debris and leaf buildup from garden beds and/or lawn and removing leaves from around crowns of plants. 

  • Re-defining natural bed edges.

  • Mulch can be added at customer request. 

Weeding & Routine Maintenance

Moss and Whimsy specializes in routine garden maintenance and will come up with a custom contract and frequency for keeping your property at a maintainable level and appearing its very best.

Tasks included in this service involve:

​

  • Manual hand weeding

  • Minor pruning and deadheading of perennials and shrubs to increase bloom time and seasonal attraction.

  • Fertilization (As needed)

  • ​Blowing off garden beds and hard surfaces.

  • Occasional weed whipping when appropriate. 

Fairy Gardens

Moss and Whimsy loves creating fairy gardens or other themed gardens! Looking for your garden to spark more joy? Is it lacking that whimsical touch? Have a favorite hobby or idea you'd like to make come to life but not quite sure how to implement it? Let us help make your dreams become a reality. 

Shrub Pruning/Hedge Trimming

Moss and Whimsy typically performs this service on deciduous shrubs from mid March to June. (as weather allows). Evergreen shrubs are typically pruned from July to August. (as weather allows). We prefer and encourage manual hand pruning to ensure a healthy and aesthetically pleasing shrub that will last for several years. 

 

However we do offer hedge trimming on certain types of shrubs when desired or appropriate. We love giving unsightly evergreens like overgrown yews a mid-century modern shape to help keep it tidy and aesthetically pleasing. (See examples on our garden transformations page)

Bed Edging & Mulch Installation

Moss and Whimsy typically performs this service early spring or late fall but it can also be done at various times throughout the season upon request. Services included involve:

​

  • Re-defining natural bed edges

  • Creating new natural bed edges if needed or upon request

  • Installing mulch to garden beds (Different varieties available)

Children's Playscapes

Moss and Whimsy loves bringing joy to children in the community by creating customized playscapes, upcycling everyday items into childlike art and crafting an immersive sensory experience for all that can grow with your child through the seasons of life.

Fall Cleanup

Moss and Whimsy performs this service from mid October to end of November. (Weather dependent.) Tasks included in this service involve:

​

  • Removing the majority of fallen leaves and debris in garden beds and/or lawn. (Off site disposal additional cost).

  • Removing any applicable seasonal color plants or furniture to help prep for winter. 

  • Remove any dead, diseased, damaged branches on shrubs. 

  • Blow off beds and hard surfaces.

  • Mulch can be added at customer request. 

Seasonal Installations

Moss and Whimsy loves creating and installing seasonal displays! Weather you are just looking for a pop of color in spring or a four season installation to add interest with the ever changing seasons, we've got you covered. We do it all--everything from seasonal pots, to green walls and wreaths! (See more examples of past work on our projects page).
